AFFILIATED TO THE ALL ENGLAND NETBALL ASSOCIATION (AENA)
The club is named Doodlebugs Netball Club and may be known as Doodlebugs NC where appropriate.
The club is formed as a voluntary body for the amateur sport of Netball and shall be a member club affiliated to the AENA (All England Netball Association). The membership of the club shall consist of those classes of membership as defined in Rule 5.
The aims and objectives of the club shall be the promotion of the sport of amateur Netball.
4.1 The management of Doodlebugs NC shall be undertaken by the Club Committee, which shall hold and administer for the general benefit of Doodlebugs NC all funds, property and equipment in the general ownership of Doodlebugs NC.
4.2 The shall consist of the following:
a) Club Captain
b) Club Vice Captain
e) Club Coach
4.3 The minimum number of The Club Committee at a meeting shall be no less than three and shall be known as the quorum.
4.4 The Club Committee shall determine any questions as to interpretation of the constitution.
4.5 In the event of equality of votes the Chair of the meeting shall have a casting vote.
4.6 The Secretary shall convene meetings of The Club Committee and The Club Committee shall meet at least every two months.
The club shall consist of The Club Committee, members and elected officers. The Club Committee shall be responsible for considering application for membership and election of officers. Membership of the club may be open to the playing members as defined below.
5.1 A playing member:
a) Shall pay club membership fees.
b) Shall pay affiliation fees to AENA.
c) Is eligible to play Netball under AENA rules.
d) Has been selected as a player by the coach and/or team Captain.
e) Is prepared to accept and support the objectives of the Club
5.2 In accepting membership a person agrees to abide by the constitution of the Club and the rulings of The Club Committee. Members under the age of 16 shall be considered as junior members
5.3 Junior members shall not have the right to vote at meetings, but are entitled to elect from amongst themselves one representative who shall have the right to vote as full members at General Meetings.
6.1 The Club Committee shall call upon those officers listed below for assistance with the day to day running of the Club and may also be invited when required to attend any meeting of the club.
a Team captains
b Team Vice Captains
c Fixtures/Umpire Co-ordinator
d Kit Manager
e Publicity, Promotions & Events Co-ordinator
6.2 Any casual vacancy occurring may be filled by The Club Committee
7.1 An annual general Meeting (AGM) shall take place giving at least 28 days notice to members. The purpose of the AGM is to inform members how the business of the club is progressing. Any questions or views may be expressed at this time. The Club Committee will consider any matters raised and changes may be made if deemed necessary as agreed.
7.2 The annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Club shall be held every year during the month of June / July when the annual report of the Club Committeeand the statement of accounts up to the end of the financial year shall be presented
7.3 The AGM shall elect such officers of the Club as it may from time to time determine.
7.4 Nominations for officers' posts shall be received by the Secretary not less than 14 days prior to the AGM. No nominations shall be accepted from the floor of the meeting. Nominations can only be accepted from persons eligible to vote at the AGM.
7.5 Dates of any general meeting shall be determined at the previous meeting. In addition, the Chair may call a meeting when he or she considers it is necessary or desirable, or upon the written request of at least three members of The Club Committee.
7.6 All members over 16 shall be entitled to vote at general meetings and shall have equal voting rights.
7.7 The quorum for general meetings shall be 8 members present and eligible to vote.
7.8 An Extraordinary General Meeting EGM shall be called by an application in writing to the Secretary signed by not less than 8 members.
Any affiliation due must be paid promptly by the 1st September each year.
9.1 Any Subscription levied will be determined by The Club Committee and members must be given 28 days notice before an AGM.
9.2 Annual subscriptions fall due on the 1st September of each year and are payable to the club treasurer.
9.3 Monthly subscriptions fall due on the first Tuesday of each month and are payable to the treasurer.
10.1 All funds raised on behalf of the club are to be used to achieve aims and interests of the club.
10.2 The Club Treasurer is responsible for the finances of the Club.
10.3 The financial year of the Club ends on the 31st May each year.
10.4 An accurate and proper statement of accounts up to and including the month preceding the AGM shall be presented at the AGM.
10.5 The funds of the Club shall be lodged at a bank or building society in an account in the name of the Club and all cheques drafts etc. drawn on these accounts shall be signed by two officers.
10.6 The club funding will be achieved as follows:
By the collection of subscriptions from players and members.
By raising funds by any lawful means.
From donations towards operating costs.
From loans and grants if deemed necessary.
11.1 Each member other than junior member shall be entitled to one vote; each junior representative shall be entitled to one vote.
11.2 A motion shall be carried out by a simple majority of those present and voting, except when the motion is a constitutional amendment that shall require a two-thirds majority.
11.3 The Club Captain shall have a casting vote.
12.1 The constitution shall be reviewed on a 12 monthly basis.
12.2 Additions to or alterations of the constitution shall be submitted to the Secretary not less than 28 days before the date of the AGM, or with a request for a special meeting of the Club members. No resolution involving amendment to the constitution may be proposed or amended from the floor of the meeting.
12.3 In the event of a proposal for attending the constitution being submitted, the Secretary shall inform the membership of the proposed motion not less than 28 days before the AGM.
12.4 Any amendments to the proposed motion duly proposed and seconded in like manner shall be submitted in writing to the Secretary not later than 14 days before the said meeting.
12.5 Any alteration to the constitution shall require a two-thirds majority of members present and voting is final.
12.6 In the event of any question or matter arising, which is not provided in the constitution: any such question, or matter, shall be dealt with by The Club Committee whose decision shall be final.
Responsibility for all property owned or leased by the club rests with The Club Committee.
14.1 The Club Committee shall have the power it take disciplinary action against any member and shall have the authority to terminate the membership of any member guilty of conduct deemed to be to the detriment of the Club.
14.2 There shall be the right of appeal to The Club Committee, against any decision made by an officer of the Club.
14.3 The appeal should normally be considered within 14 days of it being received by the Secretary.
If the club shall be dissolved any funds or club property is to be distributed as agreed by The Club Committee to another organisation with similar objectives.
